Meghan beamed as she told a select handful of media representatives: 'It's magic, it's pretty fantastic. Other top contenders included Alexander, Albert, Arthur, and James.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have revealed the name of their newborn son - Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

The duke and duchess's son arrived on Monday May 6 at 5.26am, weighing 7lb 3oz.

"He's really calm", Meghan said.

The newest member of the Royal Family has a name.

The new royal will be meeting his great-grandparents Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh later this afternoon in Windsor.

The baby's sex was a surprise for the delighted couple, who chose not to find out what they were having.

Prince Harry added that Baby Sussex's looks have been "changing everyday".

In case you were wondering, Archie is seventh in line to the throne, after Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince William's three sprogs with Princess Kate, and Prince Harry himself.

Baby Sussex made its debut, much like his/her cousins before them, wrapped in a GH Hurt & Son Ltd. white knit blanket. Everyone was watching, including the Duke of Sussex's step-mother Duchess Camilla.

Prince Harry had announced the happy news to the world with a gleamy face and revealed that the mother and newborn are incredibly well. "But his looks are changing every single day so, who knows?" It's only been two-and-a-half days, three days, but we're just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy and be able to spend some precious times with him as he slowly, slowly starts to grow up'.

It was an exciting week for the young family, who, during Wednesday's photo call, revealed that they "bumped into" Prince Philip on their way to meet the press, an exchange Meghan called "so nice". At 93, Queen Elizabeth is the world's longest-reigning monarch.

The announcement came after the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh met their eighth and newest great-grandchild for the first time at Windsor Castle.

Hours after the birth, Prince Harry gave a short statement at Windsor Castle, where he said Meghan had given birth to a "very healthy boy".

"Obviously thrilled, absolutely thrilled, and obviously looking forward to seeing them in the next few days", William told reporters.
