Omar: Supporting two-state solution shouldn't harm US-Israel relations

Last month, Trump took aim at Rep. Ilhan Omar, a Democrat from Minnesota, for her criticisms of American Jewish leaders and institutions supporting Israel.

President Trump said the United States' relationship with Israel is at its highest point in history. She doesn't like Israel, I forgot, I'm sorry.

Earlier this year, Omar was accused of anti-Semitism when she questioned whether pro-Israel lawmakers had dual loyalty and said support for Israel was "all about the Benjamins".

Democrats have pointed out that Trump has repeatedly made comments widely interpreted as anti-Semitic. Trump has cited his moving of the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem and his decision to pull the USA out of the Iran nuclear deal as reasons for Jewish voters to leave the Democratic party and support him and the GOP instead.

Trump made the remarks while speaking about the ceremony that took place in the White House almost two weeks ago, in which he signed a proclamation recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights. "I believe this president is going to try and solve the problem".

Under the new policy, asylum seekers are not guaranteed interpreters or lawyers and don't get to argue to a judge that they face the potential of persecution or torture if they are sent back to Mexico, Judy Rabinovitz, an attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union, said at a March court hearing.

"People that look like they should be fighting for the UFC".

"Regardless of the victor, the utter erasure of Palestinian humanity from this election cycle and the normalization of an undemocratic and immoral military occupation should alarm any Jew who cares about freedom and dignity of Israelis and Palestinians", Mayer said in an email.

But he did once again express confidence in his son-in-law Jared Kushner, who is working on the plan.

Just hours after Carlineo's arrest, Trump mocked Omar before an audience of Jewish Republicans.

Before Trump's appearance, people assembled for the event carried signs with "We are Jews for Trump" and "Trump" written in Hebrew. "You want to control your politicians, that's fine", Trump said at the time. Several attendees were wearing red yarmulkes bearing "Trump" and "RJC".

Stuart Weil, a Jewish man from Fresno, California, said Americans have traditionally been very supportive of Israel but "the progressive, liberal wing of the Democratic Party" is changing that. Yoffie also decried Netanyahu's "excessive enthusiasm" for Trump.

Graham also suggested the Republican-controlled U.S. Senate would vote in a month or so to formally recognize Israeli sovereignty over the disputed Golan Heights and force Democrats to go on the record on the issue.
