Borderlands 3 blasts new gameplay vid, confirms Epic launch date

Borderlands 3 being a timed exclusive on the Epic Games Store would be a huge boon for the storefront as the series is one of the best selling franchises of all time. Judging from the list of platforms seen at the end of the trailer, it also seems that some PC users' worries about the game being an Epic Games Store exclusive were founded with the store's logo appearing alongside the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. If you already own the original Borderlands on Steam, you'll receive a free update with all of these Game of the Year Edition upgrades, while those playing on Xbox One and PS4 can head to GameStop in the United States or EB Games in Canada to pick up a physical copy if they so wish. Gamers are encouraged to pre-order in return for some gold weapons skins. Many of them also come with ASCII art of raised middle fingers, just in case the message wasn't clear enough.

A new trailer highlights the four playable vault hunters and some of their abilities: Moze the Gunner, Amara the Siren, FL4K the Beastmaster and Zane the Operative.

Will you be picking up Borderlands: The Handsome Collection while it is on sale? Firearms with self-propelling bullet shields? "Rifles that spawn fire-spewing volcanoes?" Obviously. Guns that grow legs and chase down enemies while hurling verbal insults? But to get even more official info for Borderlands 3, be sure to tune in to the Gameplay Reveal Event on May 1st at Borderlands.com, where Gearbox will debut the first hands-on look at Borderlands 3.

Sony has made good on its promise to reveal more information on April 3, and Borderlands 3 will be available for purchase starting September 13.

Also revealed is Borderlands 3's cover art, which is frankly awesome.

Gearbox Software is ready to take your loot for Borderlands 3: $60 for the base Standard Edition.
