Odell Beckham trade: Reaction from NY

Stephon Gilmore felt like pretty much everyone else when the news came down that the New York Giants were trading Odell Beckham Jr to the Cleveland Browns. However, seeing what the Browns reportedly gave up (Jabril Peppers, a first round pick and a third-round pick), would Broncos fans have wanted to see that?

Teams can not officially sign free agents until the new NFL league year begins at 4 p.m. eastern time on Wednesday.

The only problem with that plan is there is no Mahomes in this year's draft class, and Manning has not even been as good as Smith was in quite a while. Cleveland also is expected to add defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson and defensive end Olivier Vernon this offseason.

Upset and sometimes embarrassed by his on-field emotional outbursts and off-field controversies, the Giants dragged out a decision on Beckham's future until just before the start of his fifth season, signing him to a five-year extension worth $90 million with $65 million guaranteed.

The three-time Pro Bowl selection had at least 1,300 yards and 10 scores in each of his first three NFL seasons after being selected as the No. 12 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

The imagined look on Eli Manning's face at a Prescott-to-Beckham touchdown to beat NY aside, it's safe to say a sizable contingent of Cowboys fans would have flat-out revolted (at least at first) if the mercurial wideout had been brought to Dallas. Unfortunately, Barkley is about all Giants' fans have to hang their hat on right now.
