Did you have THOUGHTS about Will Smith's CGI Genie in the Aladdin trailer? .

Fans can also look forward to Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Marwen Kenzari as the villainous Jafar and Naomi Scott as the lovely Princess Jasmine.

When Disney first released images of the upcoming film, Smith admitted it was "always terrifying" whenever "you're doing things that are iconic". Jafar asks Aladdin to bring him the lamp. And I say this as someone who's been an ardent defender of Ritchie's last couple of fun-filled blockbusters.

But even though we have a blue genie in our hands, fans were not happy with how horrendous CGI-fied Will Smith is looking in the trailer.

While filling the shoes of Robin Williams is an utterly massive and nearly impossible task, if anyone can do it, it's Will Smith, who is among the five or six most-liked and charismatic entertainers on Earth. The actor assured everyone that he would in fact be blue, just like Robin Williams' original animated version. Another tweeted, "In-dustrial Light and Magic, born and raised, In a computer is where I spent most of my days".

The new promo showcases Mena Massoud's Aladdin rubbing the magical lamp and out comes Smith's Genie. Some fans claimed that Will Smith's depiction of the Genie has ruined their childhoods while others said that he has caused them nightmares.

The trailer above is definitely more action-packed and shows a very blue, muscular Genie.

Smith himself, however, appeared to be into his final form in Aladdin.

Aladdin heads to theatres May 24, 2019 and we fully expect to see you all there for the splendour and wonder of Will Smith as the Genie.

A first teaser of the movie was shared by Disney in October, and again it didn't give much away either.
