Top Chef Contestant Fatima Ali Has Died

The 29-year-old, known for her appearance on Season 15 of USA television series Top Chef, passed away after a long-fought battle with Ewing's sarcoma, a terminal cancer of the bone and soft tissue. "Instead, I'd make the most of it", she wrote.

Fatima, for instance, announced in February 2018 she was in remission, but then in October of previous year, the New York-based chef revealed the unfortunate news her cancer had returned. Bruce Kalman, a top chef contestant and close friend of the cook delivered news on Instagram about the great times they spend together and particularly the episode where they discussed football stadium, Taylor Swift and plans for the future.

They added: 'Though she's no longer here, her spirit will continue to steer us. "When we think we have all the time in the world to live, we forget to indulge in the experiences of living", Ali wrote on the website Healthyish.

On her Instagram, Ali's family remembered her as "bright and young and vivacious" and gave their eternal thanks for the unending support they received from friends, family, and strangers. Pursue your passion; spread love and joy; be kind and forgiving and be generous.

The 29-year-old was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare type of cancer that affects bone and soft tissue, shortly after wrapping up the filming of the show in 2017. A second ache in her leg not long after led doctors to declare that the cancer had not only returned but had metastasized. She had undergone surgery to remove a tumor in her shoulder bone and had told PEOPLE she was "technically cancer-free" at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen last July.

In addition to competing on season 15 of Top Chef between 2017 and 2018, Ali was named a fan favorite during her tenure on the Bravo reality TV series (via TMZ). Her friends from Top Chef had started a GoFundMe page to help her fulfil her wishes. Fatima will always be a part of us, and in fact if you look deep enough, you may find your own inner Fati. "Life is unfair and something unfair does happen to you". She was a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and talked about wanting to travel, but she was still ill.

"People not only fell in love with her cooking, but fell in love with her personality and heart", Bravo said in a statement. You had so much more to offer. "It's really humbling to know that I've inspired Padma in a small way".
