'Hamberders and covfefe': Trump's latest misspelling amuses social media

With the White House kitchen staff furloughed due to the shutdown of the federal government, the president relied on the fast food chains to provide a "large" and "American" meal to the SC team.

"Hamberder (n) - Like a hamburger, but served by an idiot who believes college athletes don't deserve respect", he wrote.

Burger King trolled President Trump Tuesday - joking about the commander-in-chief's tweet that he had sprung for "1,000 hamberders" for Clemson's national champion football team. Within one hour, it was all gone.

On Tuesday night's edition of ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host roasted Trump over a now-deleted Trump tweet, which read "Great being with the National Champion Clemson Tigers last night at the White House". Great guys and big eaters! I think we're going to serve McDonalds, Wendys, and Burger King...some pizza.

Trump paid for the smorgasbord himself rather than postpone the event because White House caterers aren't at work during a partial government shutdown.

By then, screenshots of Trump apparently misspelling hamburgers went viral.

The football players walked into the event and found a table piled high with hamburgers from McDonald's, Wendy's and Burger King.

At least one Clemson Tiger didn't seem to care for the White House's menu on Monday.

I paid for the hamberders.

It was President Trump's second time welcoming the Clemson Tigers to the White House since the beginning of his presidency.

"We ordered American fast food, paid for by me". Clemson offensive lineman Matt Bockhorst tweeted "I mean you're not just gonna NOT eat the Big Macs stacked in a pile right?"

He made good on that promise with a spread of 300 hamburgers, pizza, french fries, salads, McNuggets, and silver trays filled with nugget sauce when the football team arrived.
