The Rani Laxmibai biopic that saw the actor double up as a director has earned Rs 26.85 crore within two days of the release.

Manikarnika and Thackeray, which have locked horns with each other, are going headstrong and raking in moolah at the Indian box office. On Sunday too, Kangana's film witnessed a similar footfalls as that of Saturday and collected Rs 15.70 on day 3 taking its total weekend collection to Rs 42.55 crore.

"Wow! Kangana Ranaut fu*king swept me away with her sheer intensity in the film".

With the Rs 18.10 crore collection on Saturday, Manikarnika also became the highest single day earner ever for a female driven film.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted Mankarnika's box office figures.

Still from Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. The movie was released in 50 countries worldwide on 3700 screens in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Also, the film has arrived nearly four years after the Aanand L. Rai directed flick. Deccan Chronicle' film critic Mayur Sanap wrote in his 2.5-star review, "This is a grand, arresting subject but unfortunately, the overall direction is simply not quite up to the mark". Apart from Kangana, it also features Atul Kulkarni, Ankita Lokhande, Mishti, Jisshu Sengupta, Suresh Oberoi, Danny Denzongpa and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in important roles. Helmed by Radha Krishna, the epic biographical period drama based on Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi is bankrolled by Zee Studios, Kamal Jain and Nishant Pitti.
