The official said Brown was still in custody on Tuesday, and could remain there for an additional two days while investigators decide whether or not to file preliminary charges, the AP reported.

Chris Brown is facing legal trouble, yet again, after being accused of raping a woman in Paris.

According to French magazine Closer, the attack occurred in Brown's hotel on January 15. "No lawsuits were filed against him", says Brown's Parisian lawyer, Raphael Chiche.

In 2009, he pleaded guilty to assault after beating his then-girlfriend, pop superstar Rihanna; he served five years probation and several months of community service.

French magazine Closer recently reported that the 29-year-old star was being investigated over an allegation of rape after a woman contacted the police.
