Chelsea Pursuing Transfer For Gonzalo Higuain, Loan Of Alvaro Morata

Chelsea are ready to loan out Alvaro Morata in January with Maurizio Sarri keen on bringing in Gonzalo Higuain as his replacement, sources have told ESPN FC.

The London Evening Standard are reporting on Wednesday that Sarri has once again asked the Chelsea board to try and seal the signature of Higuain.

Chelsea are willing to spend £50m on Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson if their attempts to sign Gonzalo Higuain fail, according to a report on Sky Sports.

Meanwhile, SunSport quoting Marca reports that the former Real Madrid forward has agreed terms with west London club, adding that his move could be finalised today.

We'll have to wait and see how things develop but as much as Higuain would be an exciting addition for Chelsea, it would also be something of a risk to sign a 31-year-old who's never played in the Premier League and may take some time to adjust to life in England.

The Argentinean worldwide is now on loan at the San Siro from Juve but after starting life at Milan in superb form with 7 goals in his first 9 appearances, the striker is going through a dry spell having netted just once in his last 11 outings.

"Higuain must find the real himself, he is living in a different situation for him, he left Juventus and he is here on loan".

Father-figure Sarri will believe he is the man to get the player firing on full cylinders after his prolific spell in Naples saw him hit 71 goals in 104 appearances, and will believe a rejuvenated Higuain can fire Chelsea to a top-four finish in the table. "Seeing as he is here, he needs to get down and actually do something for this team".

The 29-year-old won't be the youngest striker we might buy but he knows the Premier League well and has a decent record of scoring.
