On the first day, the film grossed around Rs 84 crores worldwide at the ticket window and trade pundits believe it's a terrific start, considering the film released on a Thursday and during a non-festival weekend.

Recently, at the trailer launch of 2.0, Shankar revealed how 3.0 is already planned.

Though the film didn't collect a big number on its opening day, but it has surely bounced high on its 4th day.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter account to share the Box Office figures.

Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's 2.0 has broken nearly all the records at the box office, except the ones set by the biggest blockbuster ever, Baahubali: The Conclusion. The Hindi rendition of 2.0 raked in Rs 63.25 crore in three days and is adding more crores as we speak. Growth on Day 3 [vis-à-vis Day 2]: 23.46%. In TN as a whole, the film has grossed close to 18 CR which is Rajini's 2nd best opener in the state below Kabali, but Shankar's career best.

Directed by S Shankar, the film also stars Amy Jackson in a pivotal role. This happens to be the first Indian film that is directly shot in 3D. Academy award winning music maestro AR Rahman has composed music for the film. If Sunday's collection gets better of Saturday even by 10 per cent, it may power the movie to Rs 250 crore (gross collection) club domestically.
