Hazard boasted a Premier League-high direct hand in 19 goals at the season's halfway stage, leaving Italian manager Sarri happy with the 27-year-old's more central role.

Hazard this week claimed he would make a decision at the end of the campaign whether he would stay or leave Chelsea.

"It is good not just to be a target man, but also as a false nine where I can move, I can drop, I can go deep, I can go on the wing".

Hudson-Odio has been a lesser feature in the Chelsea starting XI, however he did play in their win over Watford on Boxing Day.

"To be fair, I'm just focused on the pitch, and we'll see at the end of the season", Hazard said when asked about his long-term plans, as reported by Sky Sports.

With Hazard making it publicly clear of his admiration and desire to play for Real Madrid in the future, Sarri has acknowledged the situation has dragged on for too long.

"Sarri told me before the season started that playing as a number nine could be an option", Hazard told Chelsea's official club website. He is able to come and play with the team-mates.

Chelsea head into Sunday's Premier League encounter with Crystal Palace sitting in fourth place in the top-flight standings.

"I think he's the only player in the league who can get the ball on the halfway line and beat three players and score on a consistent basis". "I think [he will stay], because in this position we have only two players, Jorginho and Fabregas, and so for me, it would be a very big problem to be without Cesc", he continued.

"I can not see a problem of Hazard in this role".

Sarri has revealed that Pedro will not feature for Chelsea for at least 10 days with the Spaniard having sustained a hamstring injury against Watford.
