Because instead of one launch date, Rockstar will be rolling the multiplayer beta out to users throughout the week, beginning Tuesday, Nov. 27, when the multiplayer beta will open to buyers of the Red Dead Redemption 2 "Ultimate Edition".

Wednesday, November 28th: All players who played Red Dead Redemption 2 on October 26th according to our data.

For those who belong to the two groups in the middle, you'll need to be signed into your PSN account and your Rockstar Social Club account. As for why the studio have staggered its launch this time around. well, those who recall GTA Online's launch will remember that things didn't exactly go smoothly, with the game mode undergoing several outages and periods of maintenance before it finally started running smoothly a few weeks following its initial release. We entered this week wondering if Rockstar would meet that launch window, but even though it's getting pretty down to the wire, it looks like it will.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Players will be able to participate in fishing, hunting, treasure hunting posses, and camps.

Characters and gangs from the main game will make an appearance as NPCs, but you will be able to customise your own outlaw to take into the game.

When it comes to modes, there will be specific versus and competitive modes although there's not been any details on the rumoured battle royale mode.

The Wild West is about to get a whole lot wilder. Will it be better than GTA Online? You can choose to ignore them if you wish, or join them with other players.
