Magic Johnson has 'angry' meeting with Lakers coach Luke Walton

Lakers president Magic Johnson reportedly met with coach Luke Walton on Tuesday after the trip, admonishing Walton for the slow start to the season, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

"Luke can care less about what's going on outside". "Throughout his tenure with the Lakers, Johnson has earned an internal reputation for an oftentimes volatile management style, including with his handling of Walton and the coaching staff".

The Lakers bench helped get Los Angeles back into the game in the first half and outscored the Blazers subs 51-26.

On that same note, if just the last two four-point losses had been flipped, the Lakers would be on a five-game winning streak now.

Los Angeles last defeated Portland in a close 107-106 win back on March 3, 2014. "Unless you hold a team to 80 or 90 you'll always find things you have to get better at".

To start the game, it looked like the Lakers were going to cruise to an easy victory. James and the rest of the team preached patience throughout the offseason, but we might already be seeing signals that Walton's Lakers tenure could be in the doubt if the Lakers don't like their direction with the coach. Unsurprisingly, the Lakers have struggled to win games this season despite being competitive in all of them. He went on to say that as they have more time to play together as a team that they will turn things around on the court.

"LeBron closed them out over the final three minutes", Walton said of James. "We were able to get stops in the fourth quarter and we were getting some momentum on offense".

"We have been saying since the beginning that we need to be patient", Walton said. If anything, LeBron and this young core of guys were more likely to get off to a tremendously hot start and begin to hit some rough patches a third of the way into the season as the momentum and adrenaline from the new season wore off.

"The first and third quarters defensively we were pretty good and then we had two terrible quarters. So, any team that has Tyson is going to be better for it".

"Magic and I talk a lot about basketball and our team and his opinions and my opinions", Walton said.
