No. 7 LSU held off off No. 8 Washington State for another week, while No. 9 Central Florida and No. 10 Ohio State rounded out the top 10. Ohio State has a 29-point loss to Purdue in October on its résumé, and in the time since that setback, the Buckeyes have looked shaky.

The team jumped two spots in the ranking from last week.

Some huge games highlight the rivalry week college football card, but many teams are not in the conference or CFB playoff championship chase.

The University of MI is holding steady at number four in this week's College Football Playoff rankings. The less cynical would say UCF's schedule, not as rigorous as the other top teams, would deservedly keep the Knights out even if the alternative is teams that have lost two or even three games.

MSU is 6-5 overall and 4-4 in the Big Ten and are bowl eligible for the 11th time in 12 seasons under Dantonio. Who becomes the fourth team in the field?

The Sooners' 59-56 win on Friday night over West Virginia was their best of the season. but Ohio State's win on Saturday was better. At that point, wouldn't the committee have to give UCF a chance?

"While UCF may not have the depth or talent of Ohio State, the committee felt that right now, today, after Week 12, UCF has the more all-around, complete team", said Mullens, Oregon's athletic director. "We understand Ohio State has a quality road win over Penn State. But again, looked at Oklahoma and that dynamic offense, and while their defense may still be struggling, their offense is carrying the day and still finding a way to win with their quarterback [Kyler Murray] being so dynamic".

Beat Michigan and Northwestern to finish 12-1 and Big Ten champs: Only in if Oklahoma doesn't finish 12-1 and/or Georgia doesn't win the SEC while Alabama only ends up with one loss.
