TMZ: Ariana Grande, Pete Davidson split; engagement called off

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson's hot and heavy romance may have been their undoing.

According to a report, Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have called off their engagement.

Grande, 25, and Davidson, 24, were confirmed to be dating in May and announced their engagement shortly after. Their engagement has been called off, and the former lovers have also made a decision to end their romantic relationship.

Per the reports, the pair apparently "still has love" for each other, but things are over - at least for now - from a romantic perspective.

As of Sunday, Grande has not removed mentions and photos of Davidson from her social media accounts, but Davidson has disabled his social accounts.

"It was way too much too soon", the source told PEOPLE.

Grande has recently shared on Twitter that she is going through a rough patch. The relationship with Davidson blossomed rapidly, and Grande found herself engaged to the Saturday Night Live comedian within weeks.

"She is giving him the ring back and has no plans of getting back together with him".

On Saturday, Grande backed out last minute from performing at F-k Cancer's inaugural Barbara Berlanti Heroes fund-raising gala, while manager Scooter Braun said she needs time to heal, seemingly after ex-boyfriend Mac Miller's death.

Putting aside the Swimming rapper's death, Ariana also experienced one of Britain's great tragedies when a suicide bomber murdered 22 people at her show in Manchester past year.
