NBC host's future is in jeopardy over race remarks.

Kelly apologized to NBC colleagues in an email Tuesday. Her private testimony about former Fox News chief executive Roger Ailes' unwanted sexual advances a decade ago helped lead to Ailes' firing. She said she wasn't clear on why some consider the practices racist. But she was just - she's unaware of the history, and she said as much as that.

NBC knew exactly who Kelly was when it poached her from Fox News to anchor and host both her own daytime program and a Sunday night news-magazine show. So it appears she will not be returning to the show to say goodbye to viewers.

The end of her show was announced in a tweet by NBC News.

Despite the calm words, Page Six came out with some juicy details, including that Hall reportedly learned she was being replaced just before she went on air the Friday before.

NBC hired Kelly away from Fox News with incredible fanfare previous year.

"Some of us want to be shamed", Kelly said. "She said something stupid".

A Fox News publicist insinuated on the record earlier this week that there was no place for Kelly at the moment. "Only the truth will set you free!"

"I think that the management has to take some responsibility in it, she has to take some responsibility in it, and also her representatives have to take some responsibility in it", Lemon stated.

'I hear Megyn misses the news, ' Murdoch said, sources close to Kelly and Murdoch told the Beast. At an NBC News town hall on Wednesday, chairman Andy Lack condemned Kelly's blackface comments. You do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface for Halloween, or a black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween. "When I was a kid, that was OK as long as you were dressing up like a character". Al Roker and Craig Melvin strongly criticized Kelly's comments during the 7 a.m. hour of "Today" on Wednesday.

At issue in the negotiations is whether Kelly is entitled to the remainder of her contract, which was reported to be worth $69 million in total over three years.

According to several online reports Megyn's show has been cancelled.

When asked by USA Today whether Fox News would be keen to have Kelly return, a spokesperson replied: "We are extremely happy with our entire lineup". Her audience gave her a standing ovation, but disappointment inside NBC News runs deep and isn't likely to fade anytime soon.
