The increase from $654 million reflects a surge in ticket sales. Since the jackpot reset in July there have been 17.5 million winning tickets at all the prize levels, with 25 winners taking home prizes of $1 million or more.

IN leads the nation in Powerball jackpot wins with 39.

The odds of matching all six numbers and becoming instantly wealthy are incredibly small- one in 302.5 million.

No one won the drawing Saturday night, so the jackpot is now at an estimated $354 million.

The $654 million would be the payout if a victor selects for the annuity option, paid out over 29 years. So don't quit your day job just yet.

The Powerball jackpot is at an estimated $345 million for Wednesday's drawing, with a cash option of $199 million.

Mega Millions is not the only game in town.

The other multi-state lottery game, the Powerball, also has a jackpot with a sizable sum.

Fifty-five tickets matched four white balls plus the Mega Ball for the $10,000 third prize; seven of those are actually worth $30,000 each because they included the multiplier. That historic drawing, back in March 2012, for $656 million was shared between ticket holders in Illinois, Kansas, and Maryland.
