"Level up your Battle Pass to unlock Bonesy, Scales, and Camo, new critters that will join you on your journey across the map", wrote Epic Games. Yesterday, Xbox One players were unable to play for hours and the performance has generally been a bit choppy since Season 6 began.

Eventually it made its way to Loot Lake where it promptly melted and formed a unusual, bouncy purple layer on top of the water's surface for a number of days.

Fortnite season 6 is here! The lore in Season 6 is centered around a runic purple cube first seen coming from the giant rift in the sky and descending into Loot Lake, turning the water purple and making players bounce off of it on contact.

The well known data mining account known as FNBRLeaks on Twitter leaked some files related to the game that seem to suggest that the cube will grow throughout the season, as seen in the image above. The theme brings a number of map changes including a floating island where Loot Lake was originally located, the Haunted Castle, and new corrupted areas where the runes were placed. It just has a floating island on top of it now.

When asked how something this seemingly elaborate gets unintentionally programmed into a massive update for the most popular game in the world, the spokesperson did not elaborate further. Harvest season is now upon us and the corn stalks around Fatal Fields are now fully grown, providing a nice hiding place to surprise enemies.

You can also unlock new pets that work like very animated backbling, reacting to when you fire your gun or take damage.

You can find this week's Battle Star at the small ranch that's to the right of Paradise Palms. Stand still and you'll be invisible to other players.
