Corrections Secretary John Wetzel says the prison's long-term goal is to place Cosby in the general population.

"This has been the most racist and sexist trial in the history of the United States", Cosby's spokesman Andrew Wyatt told the press after the sentencing.

He also added, weirdly, that one "is a practitioner of mindfulness", which "is an eastern-inspired practice that is controversial in the field of psychology." Um. Cosby has been accused of sexual assault and misconduct by dozens of other women, but many of their claims were unable to be adjudicated in court.

In addition to his sentence, the disgraced comedian must register as a sex offender and pay a $25,000 fine on top of prosecution fees.

A judge on September 25 declared Cosby a "sexually violent predator" just before he was sentenced.

His fate at a new facility remains to be seen but at SCI Phoenix Cosby spent his first night in his own cell without a cellmate.

Feden also said that as she watched Cosby during the proceedings, she didn't "even know that it was clear to him that this was judgment day".

Cosby's lawyers asked that he be allowed to remain free on bail while he appeals his conviction, but the judge appeared incredulous over the request and ordered him locked up immediately, saying that "he could quite possibly be a danger to the community".

Cosby was convicted on three counts, including aggravated indecent assault, in a 2004 case involving Temple University athlete Andrea Constand.

Cosby's legal team; however, argued that he should be sent home on house arrest because he is old, frail and legally blind. We should be praising these women for showing us exactly who he is.

Prisoners arriving at SCI Phoenix get a uniform, basic toiletries, linens, towels and state-issued boots, Pennsylvania Department of Corrections spokeswoman Amy Worden told CNN.

According to Radar, Cosby communicated that he feels "under siege" and is begging his wife of 54 years, Camille, 74, to do whatever she can to get him out as soon as possible.
